I'm sorry to inform this bought off expert and #fakemedia, Tesla borrowed technologies from SpaceX, which makes nearly perfect vehicles for space. It's like if GM had NASA engineers on speed dial. And i'm sorry again, your argument is as absurd as yourself, dear Munro guy. You're saying Tesla should build crappier cars?! That basically means all car companies who hired you are building shitty cars, following your advice... NOT COOL!

Take this with a grain of salt since the company that conducted this analysis went on record earlier saying the Model 3 couldn’t be profitable and they had to eat crow when it turned out they were wrong. It’s clear now the company is attempting to slander Tesla because they are mad about the retraction and want to be able to claim if it was built their way it would not be profitable which just makes them look like idiots. The Model 3 is a wonderful car and this guys firm has lost all credibility. (Source: http://insideevs.com/munro-tesla-model-3-profitable/)

Bloomberg translation: USA AMERICANS, Tesla "musk" be eliminated. It will last and the body is too stiff , creating a strong safety cage, and great handling. You must adhere to your love for Detroit steel that rusted away and was badge engineered with subpar parts for decades. We have nothing to offer you that comes close to the Tesla. We couldn't even film a Model 3, so we used a much larger and heavier Model S to compare our Chev-I mean Daewoo to. You must buy Detroit, it is better. The GM KOREA CHEV- I MEAN DAEWOO BOLT IS LESS STIFF, and uses its flexibility to handle corners better. GM KOREA's patented " BODY FLEX" Technology senses when you are on a incline or corner and automatically flexes so that the doors can't open normally! So, BUY DAEWOO, I MEAN GM KOREA, I MEAN DETROIT and support the US America, so that we may build a better future for our!

The "flaw" they are talking about isn't about the model 3 being a bad car. They stated in the video that the Tesla 3 is a much superior car compared to the other available electrics on the market. What they are saying is Tesla has designed the car too expensive to produce and therefore making the company not as profitable as it could be if it did things in a more conventional way which is all about what bloomberg is about, profitable companies. Regardless of safety ratings and how good the car is, etc. this is a serious issue for the investors because they arent making money. All these Tesla fans need to realize that the message this video is trying to convey is that the car is not going to make as much money as Musk wants to unless the flaw is somehow fixed/changed.

If Tesla collaborated with Mercedes in terms of design, technology and build I would buy that car in an instant. As it is Tesla is a tech company trying to emulate a car company. Yes their cars are great and advanced but more often than not its at the sacrifice of overall build quality and time. Just look at the methods they use to keep the car together. It's so complex and non intuitive that it slows down their production line and hinders themselves in the process. If Tesla sorts out their manufacturing process they have the potential to absolutely smash any of their competitors. They already have cars that outperform most ICE vehicles now they just need to make them more available.

The simple fact is that when you are restricted to carrying a heavy battery...you require more structure, particularly around wheel arches. And for those of you who are members of the Tesla cult, yes I am qualified to make such an assessment having worked on automotive structures for 20 plus years. What is the long term outlook for E.V.'s when the means to produce electricity are rapidly diminishing, because green energy doesn't cut it, and there is an threefold increase in the demand for electricity because of charging infrastructure and more batteries to charge? Very limited...that's the outlook for E.V.'s. You will never replace the cost effectiveness of fossil fuels, like it or not that's the truth.

Why so many dislikes? Simplification of manufacturing, using more common parts rather than unique parts and less worker-hours required per car, keeps prices down. This video infers that Tesla isn't making as much per car as they could, or they could sell their cars for less. Either way, that's a plus for the consumer, you get a better built car, possibly at a more competitive price. As for being the safest car, that is mostly to do with in-car electronics and not the number of welds or the types of fasteners used.

Hilarious. I feel this video is trying to convince me that auto makers would make Tesla's own car better. This is literally LMAO funny. Completely hypothetical because they would not make an electric car for general use-not like tesla-and if they did, they wouldn't advertise it. Yes they own patents and even have show cars and concepts electric cars and the volt. The thing you all need to realize is that automakers will not mass produce electric cars. Automakers are heavily influenced by Oil companies. Oil companies want you to buy their product-they are the apex, fourth Reich. They are not going to easily allow a vehicle that runs on electricity to sell. IF they did, Honda, Toyota, Ford would be selling electric cars. I mean hybrids they will sell. Know why? Because they consume gasoline! Durh...I will never forget this bloomberg. Anyone remember the fuel alternatives Bush spent billions on? Technology exist, but once California ended their legislature to force automakers to make electric cars the fuel cell and hydrogen car was put on the shelf. Oil companies are not ready to stop forcing you buy oil, gasoline, and diesel-no matter the health and environmental cost. We are all just cash cattle.

So basically they're saying that the Tesla is a damn good car, but it's not well designed for production - pretty much what could be expected when a botique small-volume car maker tries to make a mass market vehicle - they struggle a bit. They've had a hard time keeping up with demand, and have had all manner of production delays. And, of course, they ain't cheap - if they designed it for cheaper manufacturing it could be sold at a cheaper price. They're gradually sorting it out though, I have confidence that they'll eventually wind up on top of the automotive industry. What would be really interesting would be if Tesla entered a partnership with another more traditional carmaker, combine Tesla's ability to make really good cars with the others' ability to make millions of them, and truly be unstoppable. But Tesla is gradually figuring it out on their own, and I doubt Elon would be up for that.

This is exciting. Over time they will correct some over-engineering, and get more experience in optimizing a chassis. Because customers are excited with the fundamental technologies from battery to motors to control electronics. I really hope they get enough support and patience to tunnel through those difficulties. It is great to see a startup get something done while the competition has 70 years of experience in advance.

This guy doesn't understand that Tesla don't build the car to barely pass current safety standards like other auto manufacturers. Their aim was to build the best and safest car, not just build down to the lowest possible cost. There seems to be a lot about the car that Sandy Munro doesn't really get because he is constrained by some of the old ways of thinking. As he went deeper and learned more about the electronics he did change his mind about the car and said that he had to "eat crow", so he should get a lot of credit for saying that his initial assessment was wrong. Tesla is still a young manufacturer and they are getting better and better all the time.

I dont really get what the problem is here, is this just an attempt by the oil cartels to rubbish a brand that threatens their future profits, I am no Tesla fan, I dont own one and even if I could afford the price it would be unlikely as I tend to use public transport. The brand appears to have a loyal base of customers the cars seem well screwed together and passes the strict safety tests in Europe. I am sure if GM or Ford built cars to this spec there would waiting lists for years, but they dont because they still live in the pockets of the Oil Cartels and although vastly heavy polluting do not get the stick that Tesla appear to be getting.

Well all others manufacturers cannot catch up to Tesla, so let's try to say the body has issues LOL Well the body is too sturdy !!!! it could be lighter!!! Well maybe it was made that way to be more secure for the passengers in the car in case an accident happens!! BUT OMG Tesla thought of that from the get go?? What is wrong with them!! Hire lawyers and when only a few people die, it is part of our surveys on cost VS humans life cost and it is acceptable!! The best electric car available on the market is?? TESLA !!!! Maybe in 20 years the dinosaur manufacturers can catch up to today's Tesla technology, but in 20 years Tesla will still be light years in advance of them.

Why does everybody want to tear down something that not only dares to be different but does a bloody excellent job of it? Telsa is building all electric cars, cars which beat the pants of "conventional" cars. Why would you compare the Tesla with conventional car manufacturers whose only policy is that "electric cars don't work". Remember GMs EV1, yeah GM was so smart it recalled its leased vehicles and crushed the lot. Tesla is way ahead of conventional manufacturers and it's time the commentators had the balls to say so.

Oh this video reeks of horse manure! Then Tesla would suck like the others do!! And the crap about profit margin, as if you really care. Elon Musk builds and sells amazing cars! Tesla has been the best thing to happen to the automotive industry in over half a century (at least), and I'm glad Tesla has kicked the other manufacturers in the butt because they needed this wake up call. So buy one before they start building it cheap; Musk is no longer chairman so I think decisions like this will be affected in the future. The engineering of the body rigidity is a valued cost but it is heavy. If the car was lighter by 20%, which as of now the model S almost 5K lbs, you may get and additional 15 - 25 % range increase depending on many other factors. To be able to extend to roughly 420 or more miles would be great. They could build the entire vehicle in carbon fiber but that would cost way more....I think or a carbon poly mixed material that is cheaper but you keep the rigidity. It would still have a mix of metal materials with the carbon poly material for safety....I think it would be a need but not much of it.

You need all that weight to keep you on the ground when your in ludicrous speed. 0-60 in 3.3 seconds, stock. They've sold more model 3s this year than any other electric car combined, including the model x and model s. They have "clobbered everybody" and no one will be able to catch up. The bolt is a joke the leaf is ugly, the fiat has no space. Yet the patents are available so other car makers can use the same batteries and motors if they wanted to.
